ASSISTANT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT FOR
SPECIAL EDUCATION &
PUPIL PERSONNEL SERVICES (PPS)
Duties include but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations; Under the leadership of the Interim Superintendent of Schools, be responsible and accountable for the Special
Education Department and its functions, which include, but are not limited to CSE/CPSE, referrals,
evaluations, and related meetings. Monitors and supervises the Director for Guidance and PPS, Director for Special Education, district social workers, Attendance Aids/Teachers, Drug and Alcohol Community
Coordinator, and School Wellness Center employees.
Qualifications:
¨ New York State School District Leader Certification
¨ Experience chairing CSE/CPSE meetings
¨ Strong knowledge of Part 200 and Part 201 regulations
¨ Be a highly collaborative, results-oriented, adaptable, problem-solving self-starter, meet the
social-emotional needs of families, scholars, and staff
¨ Proven track record of improving school culture and implementing social-emotional systems that improve academic achievement and attendance
