SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER
We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Social Studies teacher who will inspire a passion for building students’ understanding of history, geography, politics, economics, and culture acquisition through enjoyable and rigorous instruction. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary curriculum development and in addition possess a passion for delivering curriculum, evoking classroom engagement and creating cultural sensitivity. Candidate must also show eagerness to embrace an interdisciplinary approach while collaborating with all stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Develop & teach engaging lessons that Next Generation Standards aligned NYSED curriculum
· Use formal and informal assessment data to drive instruction and ensure student mastery of standards
· Build a warm and inclusive environment for students
· Other related duties as assigned
Qualification:
NYS Teacher Certification in Social Studies-7-12, experience preferred
Immediate Supervisor: Principal
Effective Date: September 1, 2024
Annual Salary: Per WTA Contract
