GUIDANCE COUNSELOR—Bilingual (Spanish Preferred)
We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Guidance Counselor who has the passion of supporting students through academic, personal and career advisement. The candidate must demonstrate a
commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary methods of counseling while collaborating with all
stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students in the areas of self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills.
· Assist in crisis response, conflict resolution and behavior intervention
· Monitor student schedule & make adjustments to ensure alignment with graduation, college/career
readiness
· Develop & implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with ASCA National Model
· Support responsible decision making within the scope of the district’s long-term goals of increasing
graduation rate, career goals and reducing chronic absenteeism.
· Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS/RTI meetings as appropriate
· Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: NYS School Counselor Certification; Demonstrated knowledge of high school graduation requirements, transcript evaluation, and post secondary planning; Ability to speak, read and write fluent Spanish language required.
