ASSISTANT COOK
Qualifications: High School Diploma, prior Food Service experience, Suffolk County Food Managers Certificate or ServSafe Certificate preferred. Candidates must have the ability to perform the duties outlined in the UPSEU contract and the Suffolk County Civil Service job description. The candidates must also have scheduling flexibility with their work hours and job site location.
Duties include but are not limited to: Assists in preparing and coming food for regular and special diets; slices, cuts, grills, roasts, deep fries and seasons food; carving cooked meats;
Apportions food to carts and trays; helps serve food from a steam table; operates standard cooking equipment; maintains kitchen area in clean and sanitary conditions; may assist in maintaining inventory records and ordering of provisions.
