(2) SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE WORKERS
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, prior food service experience, Suffolk County Food Manager’s Certificate or ServSafe Certificate preferred. Candidate(s) must have the ability to perform the duties outlined in the UPSEU contract and the Suffolk County Civil Service job description. The candidate(s) must also have scheduling flexibility with their work hours and job site location.
Duties include but are not limited to:
¨ Sets up counter for food service
¨ Serves food portions from steam table containers and from pre-measured cups and other dishes
¨ Handwash dishes, scrub pots and other kitchen utensils by hand
¨ Washes and prepares vegetables and assists cook with other food preparation duties
¨ Prepares and serves fast-food items
¨ Clears tables and cleans kitchen and dining area
Duration: 2026-2027 School Year
Hours: Varies (per school building)
Salary: $17.00 per hour
