Duties include but are not limited to:  Ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations; Under the leadership of the Director of Special Education, assist with Special Education Department matters related to CSE/CPSE, referrals, evaluations, meetings, assisting/meeting with parents and Special Education staff.

 Qualifications

¨ New York State School District Leader Certification

¨ Be a highly collaborative, results-oriented, adaptable, problem-solving self-starter, meet the social-emotional needs of families, scholars, and staff;

¨ Proven track record of improving school culture and implementing social-emotional systems that improve academic achievement and attendance

¨ Minimum of five years teaching experience

INTERIM ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES

  

SUMMARY:    Responsible for planning, managing and evaluating the district-wide human resource function and all related activities. Member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet. This position includes the

duties and responsibilities below and other functions as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s Degree (preferably in job related field), appropriate NYS Administrative

Certificate in Educational Administration; minimum of five years teaching experience

 

Salary:  Per Diem Based On Experience

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

¨ Supervises and provides leadership, direction, guidance and support to the Personnel Office staff

¨ Assumes leadership for development and revision of personnel policies and regulations

¨ Develops and maintains appropriate procedures for recruitment, selection, assignment, evaluation and termination of personnel. Assists Superintendent in the final decision regarding employment.

¨ Prepares recommendations for the Superintendent’s submission to the Board of Education

¨ Plans, develops and administers staff record-keeping programs and procedures concerning

      certification, seniority, longevity, tenure, benefits and attendance

¨ Develops job descriptions for new positions and assists in the review and revision of existing positions and their respective job descriptions

¨ Assists the Board’s negotiator and works towards the development of acceptable and functional negotiated agreements. Administers and interprets the provisions of negotiated agreements within the

      district. Supervises the processing of all contractual grievances

¨ Remains current of governmental statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to personnel

      administration and ensures compliance

¨ Cooperates with Central Office administrators and building administrators in assessing and providing for professional staff development as applicable

¨ Recruits, approves and maintains lists of per diem substitutes, as needs dictate, for instructional and non-instructional staff

¨ Prepares and distributes district staff vacancy notices and advertisements for the purpose of soliciting applications

¨ Recommends to the Superintendent of Schools employee step placement on salary schedules; advises school district business office of approved salary adjustments; verifies all claims for change in step or column on salary schedules, previous employment certification, graduate and in-service credit and longevity

¨ Secures and maintains personnel files of all employees

¨ Administers Departmental budget within the area of responsibility and recommends transfers

      between budget categories. Authorizes expenditure requests from the approved budget

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ New York State Administrative Certification (SAS, SBL)

¨ Provide exemplary leadership to all school community members to achieve outstanding performance in preparing each student for college

¨ Strong record of driving outstanding student results

¨ Strong data analysis skills

¨ Ability to provide high leverage feedback via classroom observations

¨ Demonstrated capacity for successful communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders including       experienced faculty, inquiring students and active families

¨ Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail and follow-through

¨ Passionate dedication to improve the minds, characters, and lives of students both in and out of school

¨ A child-centered philosophy, with proven ability as a rigorous academic leader, innovative planner, and effective communicator

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

¨ Implement effective assessment systems and use data to inform decisions

¨ Lead all aspects of curriculum development and assessment and ensure consistency within the school program and alignment with state and other rigorous standards

¨ Teacher coaching and development to build capacity

¨ Complete daily walk-throughs, conduct daily teacher observations and provide real time feedback to move the

      needle on student achievement

¨ Oversee faculty and staff, including recruitment, evaluation, retention, and dismissal, hold primary responsibility for professional development, staff observations, curriculum development, staff communication and program

      decisions

¨ Lead faculty to ensure that all staff are providing well-managed and rigorous daily lessons

¨ Hold teachers accountable for meeting high bar for student performance including requirements for special

      education and ENL programs

¨ Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively

¨ Build a joyful and rigorous school culture

¨ Foster consistency in Academic and Behavioral expectations

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations. Under the leadership of the Superintendent of Schools,

responsible for the management of district resources as it relates to Special Education, and Pupil Personnel Services. Including but not limited to overseeing CSE/CPSE process, referrals, evaluations, meetings, assisting/meeting with

parents and Special Education staff. Oversee Grades Pre-K through 12 Social Workers, Guidance Counselors and

Attendance. Monitor and supervise the Drug and Alcohol Community Coordinator. Monitor and supervise School Wellness Centers and partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ Extensive knowledge of PPS & Special Education

¨ Must be a creative and visionary individual who will develop practical and productive models and approaches to PPS and Special Education systems, and ability to assist with Master Scheduling

¨ Compassionate leader with extraordinary interpersonal skills with a strong desire to serve a high needs community

¨ Must have extensive experience chairing CSE Meetings

¨ Experience with school financing, and data reporting and analysis

¨ Ability to navigate networks, agencies and resources to fulfill the needs of our students

¨ Responsible for coordinating Special Education/PPS Professional Development

¨ New York State School District Leader Certification

¨ Prior experience leading school district-wide Special Education, and PPS initiatives

¨ Strong knowledge of NYSED Part 200 and Part 201 Regulations
