Providing strong instruction to students having aligned to the New York State standards,

cooperating with building and district staff, maintaining accurate records of grades and

attendance, collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and instructional resources.

 

Qualifications: New York State Teaching Certification in Visual Arts-Grades 7-12 required

Teaching experience preferred

GUIDANCE COUNSELOR-SPANISH SPEAKING

 

We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Spanish speaking Guidance Counselor who has the passion of

supporting students through academic, personal and career advisement.  The candidate must demonstrate a

commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary methods of counseling while collaborating with all stakeholders.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students in the areas of self awareness, self

      management, social awareness, relationship skills.

· Assist in crisis response, conflict resolution and behavior intervention

· Monitor student schedule & make adjustments to ensure alignment with graduation, college/career

      readiness

· Develop & implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with ASCA National Model

· Support responsible decision making within the scope of the district’s long-term goals of increasing

      graduation rate, career goals and reducing chronic absenteeism.

· Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS/RTI meetings as appropriate

· Other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  

· NYS School Counselor Certification;

· Demonstrated knowledge of high school graduation requirements, transcript evaluation, and post secondary

      planning;

· Ability to speak, read and write fluent Spanish language required.
