3 Translators who speak/write English & Spanish

2 Translators who speak/write English, French &

Haitian Creole

 

Duties: Translating district correspondence from English to Spanish or

English to Haitian Creole/French, including interpreting during various meetings and/or functions, automated/robo phone calls.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/ability to fluently speak, read and write the English, Spanish Language,

and/or English, French, Haitian Creole Language

Immediate Supervisor: Dr. Christine Jordan, Assistant to the Superintendent for

Administrative & Instructional Accountability

Effective Date: September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026

Stipend: $2,500.00/yr. (per translator)

LAFRANCIS HARDIMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (ANNEX)

COMMUNITY SERVICE AIDE POSITION

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Serve as a liaison between the residents of the Wyandanch community, and municipal

agencies or departments which provide services and assistance to those in need; inform residents of employment and job training opportunities, health services and procedures and services for services for resolution of community related problems; works to establish a good rapport between personnel of municipal agencies or departments, and community residents.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma; Valid NYS Driver License required; Experience preferred;

Bilingual (Spanish/Haitian Creole) applicants welcome to apply.
