Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School Principal

(Grades 3-5)

 Qualifications:

¨ New York State SBL/SDA Certification required

¨ Minimum of five years teaching experience

¨ Successful administrative or supervisory experience of at least five years duration preferred

Duties include but are not limited to:

¨ Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of elementary education

¨ Demonstrate abilities and competencies in curriculum research and development in accordance with

      district programs and goals

¨ Ability to plan and supervise the work of the professional and ancillary staff

¨ Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders

¨ Ability to compose and present written reports clearly and concisely

¨ Utilize instructional data analysis to modify and improve instruction and student achievement; lead,

      design and assist educators with implementation of student assessment and data cycles

¨ Ensure all assessments and benchmarks are Standards Based and curriculum-aligned with equity/culturally responsive goals

¨ Highly skilled in leading people and managing operations

¨ Capable of building a school community where restorative practices are actively modeled and used to navigate student and community challenges

¨ Experience with the Science of Reading research and literacy across content area implementation

¨ Knowledge of the Portrait of Graduate initiatives

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

 Annual Salary: Per WAA Contract
