 SPEECH and LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

(Bilingual Spanish preferred)

 

Duties include but are not limited to:  Position is responsible for providing speech/language services to meet the requirements of the students IEP. Position is responsible for screening and assessment; goal development; and planning/implementing appropriate speech and language treatment services to maximize student

learning. The applicant must: 

       ¨ Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social and

      intellectual development of students

¨ Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students

¨ Ensure that all activities conform to district and cooperative guidelines

¨ Communicate effectively with all members of the school district, cooperative, and community

 

Qualifications:  NYSED Certified Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD), Bilingual (Spanish).  New York State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and Evidence of successful school experience preferred.

Duration: 2026-2027 School Year

SCHOOL REGISTERED NURSE

 

Qualifications: NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing along will NYS Nursing Certification acceptable; Master’s Degree and RN Certification preferred).

 Experience in working with children ages 12-15 in a school setting preferred.                             Must possess knowledge of school medical and safety procedures; Ability to administer medication for diabetic students is a must; Knowledge of trauma-informed practices; Expected to follow all health related procedures and mandates issued by NYSDOH and the    Wyandanch Union Free School District; Cultural competence and familiarity with the Wyandanch School District and its surrounding community a plus.

 

Immediate Supervisors: Dr. Michele Darby, Principal and Dr. Pepperika Bonay-Martin, Director of P.P.S.

 

Duration:                           2026-2027 School Year

 

Hours:                               8 hours per day/5 days per week
